About CI
Collective Invention is a social innovation firm. Our team brings decades of experience in fields like industrial design, scenario planning, and ethnographic research to our work with partners intent upon improving the world.
Because we know that transformative experience is a precursor to transformative action, we develop experiential worlds: immersions into multiple possible futures that will shape the way we think about the present.
Because we understand that taking an imaginative leap into the future is a beginning and not an end in itself, we develop tools and processes for identifying, and then capitalizing on, opportunities in the present.
Because we realize that leadership is fundamental to innovation, we partner with leaders who understand—or are willing to learn—how to create the conditions for innovation to flourish.
Because we believe that remaking the world requires a holistic approach, and that innovation is inspired by unexpected intersections, we like to work across content and geographic boundaries. We partner with consortia, organizations, NGOs and government agencies in the US and abroad in fields such as education, health and sustainability.
